On my Instagram, there is a version of Origami Dota 2 Logo that I had designed on 30 Dec 2013. However, I was not satisfied because there were no references at all making it difficult to reproduce.

Dota 2 Logo Old Design

On 30 May 2016, I had redesigned the Origami DOTA 2 Logo that is referenced and it can be produced easily by following the diagrams.

Just an example of diagrams drawing in progress!

DIAGRAMS WILL BE OUT BY 17 JUNE 2016!

Thoughts in a nutshell:

- Logo was inspired when the Official Logo appeared while waiting for the game to load.

- Had been intrigued by the colour change techniques in origami design and thus was motivated to try.

- The first version was done by trial and error coupled with intuitions to produce 2 flaps for left and right white regions.

- The 2 flaps were then done with 2 rabbit-ear folds. The second version was done with more planning and organized.

- Was initially not confident because I had not have much practices with colour change models. However, with a little of logic and planning, I had figured where to allocate paper for the flaps making it much more foldable.

- Feeling fortunate to have some easily-acquired references which will be of good guide for the diagram and folders.

After folding this, I got reminded of another one of the few inside-out models. My Faceless, still unreferenced, can be found here, I had lots of troubles for the Faceless but again with some trial and errors, I had found out a way to create details for its face!

If there would be a take-home point, it would be : No matter how hard it is, unless you give it a try, you will NEVER know if you can ever make it~
