This is one of the many excuses I had in mind and had heard from many folders when I was younger and had gotten lazy in the fold. I started folding since I was seven and had a strong passion for it however as time passes, with more responsibilities with school works and other activities, there were less time spent on Origami itself! After all, in Singapore and many other places, education seems to come first with many experiences.
In this short post, I would like to discuss 2 simple reasons I feel that saying one has no time is an excuse and how I go about squeezing time!
Nobody says high complexity origami is true origami
A single fold model can be classified as an origami model. Check some examples out here!
You can make impressive models in just 5 to 30 minutes.
Doodle folding can be highly entertaining when you see paper taking random shapes and sometimes creating something by accident! An example would be my Orchid design on 10 Dec 2015!
We just gotta find time
During train rides or bus rides, there will be short moments where there are time. Use it!
I always have a small box with a small notebook with me and a pen in it and origami paper for designing.
Unless you are passionate, you will find Origami a chore. Else, it is ideal for break time activity! I was taught that a 2 to 5 minutes break every 30 minutes improves productivity!
Conclusion
I truly believe it is about time management and how we actively find time and do things that we like.
It is about how much you and I want it! It is about how passionate we are about the art. Since we have already started folding, why quit now when you can quit later?
